The Under Gardener’s Lodge was built around 1841, though to be honest we only received the keys at the beginning of June 2011; I know such a long time to wait …
We were finally able to move in at the end of July 2011, after some redecoration and some initial repairs had taken place.
‘We’ being, my wonderful husband Lou and I,
and not forgetting our large black /grey dog, which some of the local children think is a wolf!
I hope to share with you snippets of our life here; the change in the Seasons, the people we meet, and of course as in so many blogs these days, there will be talk of cooking, food, family, friends, laughter, life immeasurable.
The changes we have made, and continue to make on the appearance of the Lodge and it’s changes on ‘us.’
And most of the the day to day ‘magic’ of living in such a special place.
And for those who have asked Who am I…,
I’m a 50+ multifaceted, oxymoron, who can never really make her mind up.
I’m a Witch, a Follow of the Goddess, a Wanabee Writer and Medium, – some say I’ll talk to anyone dead or alive.
I’m a dissorganised Blogger, Cake Baker, Jam Maker, Trainee Patchwork-er and Keeper of the Keys for The Under Gardner’s Lodge.
Mother, Grandmother and Wife, and Walker of The Dog!
I’m fascinated and excited by many things, and therefore could be called eclectic or even eccentric, though some have not been that polite.
I live in this Beautiful Magical Lodge with my husband Lou, our rather large dog, Shea and a few other previous residents, who come and go.
And like many women of a certain age – I like purple rather a lot!
*Oh because sadly you have to these days – I just want to add, that all of my posts and my photo’s are the intellectual property of me, * *Shullie H Porter **- The Keeper of the Keys, and author of this blog – so I am asking nicely – please don’t steal/nick/borrow my work!
However, if you do like something, you can always link to it and to any of my posts – and I will do the same for you :)*

Hi, I hope you don’t mind that I linked to your Rosehip and Apple jelly recipe over on my page? I loved it so much I just wanted to share!
Thanks,
Jenny
No problem Jenny, thank you, I’m glad you liked it.
To whom it may concern,
I am creating a catering website, and would very much like to use one of your pictures (lemon in water) as part of the logo, as it captures the concept ‘fresh’ perfectly.
The link is as follows: https://talesfromtheundergardnerslodge.wordpress.com/2012/03/11/hot-ginger-lemon-and-honey-tea-with-an-added-kick/
May I please have permission to do so?
Thank you for your time,
Rebecca
Hi Rebecca, the image is a free stock picture that I found, so please feel free to use …regards
